Allison practises primarily in the areas of insurance defence, personal injury and commercial disputes. She has extensive experience as counsel in motor vehicle claims and has lectured on motor vehicle insurance law at the University of Ottawa law school.
Originally from Saskatchewan, Allison’s first career was in music. While pursuing a piano performance degree at the Université de Montréal, an injury necessitated a career change. Allison then commenced legal studies at the University of Saskatchewan, moving to Ottawa immediately after completion. She has worked at a well-known Ottawa law firm for the last several years, where her insurance practise included bodily injury, property damage and coverage cases. Allison has also represented clients in numerous property claims involving building deficiencies and environmental damage. She has a special interest in claims emerging from the developing alternative energy industry.
Allison also works closely with clients who have suffered from a traumatic personal injury. Here, her compassion for her clients in combination with her legal skills help bring comfort and compensation to people who have been involved in accidents resulting in brain and spinal cord and other serious injuries.
When she’s not working, Allison enjoys music, sailing and reading, often all at the same time.
